IT’S ALL FIT TO PRINT.
‘‘Our generation is replacing signs and protests with individual actions,’’ says Kyle Taylor, 23, an advocate for the social-entrepreneur movement who started his own mentoring organization. ‘‘This is our civil rights movement and what will define our generation.’’
From the tip of Africa to the urban metropolis of New York City stories of hope, action and change have been documented by publications large and small. More than two dozen news agencies have covered the work I have been doing with Ashoka’s Youth Venture. From the New York Times to the Washington Post, from La Nacion in Argentina to the Times of India in New Delhi, the frame is shifting. Young people are more than cell phones and facebook. More than lazy consumers. We’re not just talking about change, we’re doing it. Some excerpts:
The New York Times
‘‘It’s a global movement of changemakers...connecting young people around the world and showing them that they are part of something much bigger than themselves,’’ says Kyle Taylor, Global Spokesperson of Youth Initiatives. These young people are proving that everyone can be a everyone can be a changemaker in their own way.
The Times of India
Working to build a powerful network of young changemakers around the world, Kyle Taylor is working with Ashoka’s Youth Venture to provide coaching, resources and seed funding for young people to create, launch and run sustainable community-benefitting ventures.
